Nomos Glashütte

The former silver mining town has become famous worldwide since the middle of the 19th century for the high-quality watch manufactories that settled there. In 1992, the first collection hit the market, consisting of four different basic models – the Tetra, the Ludwig, the Tangente and the Orion. Whilst Swiss movements were assembled in the early days, the manufacturer has used exclusively self-made movements for its wristwatches since 2005. Therefore, the company complies with the requirements for bearing the term “Glashütte” in its name. For this, at least 50% of the production has to be carried out in the Saxon town. But Nomos goes one step further and manufactures between 75 – 95% in Glashütte. The fancy luxury watches, which are made in the town's former railway station, are in a class of their own.
