Initially, precision-mechanical devices were manufactured in the company Robert Mühle & Sohn, but soon the focus shifted, partly due to personal preferences, to ship's instruments and ship's clocks. After the Second World War, however, the company was forcibly closed, only to rise again a year later, like the phoenix from the ashes, as Mühle Glashütte. The family set about building what it could do best and soon became world-famous for its complicated and precise timekeeping equipment. Even a renewed expropriation could not stop the family, and today Mühle Glashütte once again belongs to the family and also manufactures high-quality functional watches for professionals. One of them is the Nautik S.A.R. Rescue-Timer.

A connection to the sea – even without being near the coast

When the company from Saxony develops timepieces for special groups and requirements, it brings these on board for support and development. In the development of the Nautik S.A.R. Rescue-Timer, the captains of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service were consulted, and their input still flows into the production of the watches today. Thus the Nautik S.A.R. Rescue-Timer withstands a water pressure of 100 bar, and the markers and hands are strongly luminous. Furthermore, the sapphire crystal was not only given an anti-reflective treatment and is 4 mm thick, but also has a magnifier ground into the inside. For trouble-free handling, the crown was placed at the 4 o'clock position. But it's not only the functions that impress; the look, with its elegant combination of stainless steel and black rubber, is also convincing. As an alternative for pilots, you can also discover the S.A.R. Flieger Chronograph in the Mühle Glashütte range.
